L’id\u00e9e de la cr\u00e9ation du Centre Songha\u00ef est venue du Fr\u00e8re Godfrey NZAMUJO. Pr\u00eatre dominicain, Docteur en \u00e9lectronique, en microbiologie et en sciences de d\u00e9veloppement, il s\u2019allie \u00e0 un groupe d\u2019Africains et d\u2019amis de l\u2019Afrique, partageant la m\u00eame vision que lui. Celle de redonner \u00e0 l\u2019Afrique, sa dignit\u00e9, trop longtemps bafou\u00e9e.<\/article>
In 1982-1983! On the television channels, only images of famine and serious drought were shown, especially in Ethiopia. Images that only presented Africa as a continent devasted by deadly wars, starvation, crises, poverty, a continent where there was no hope. Father Godfrey Nzamujo, who was a university professor of computer science and electronics in the United States, arrived in Africa with the determination and firm conviction to change things a little.<\/article>

Of all the countries he visited, including his native country Nigeria, only Benin republic fully embraced the initiative and believed in the success of the project. The government of former president Mathieu K\u00e9r\u00e9kou granted him a hectare of land to set up the project in Porto-Novo (Ouando). Thus Songhai was established in October the 5th 1985 in Porto-Novo, borrowing its name from a very powerful and flourishing West African empire of the 15th century. This prestigious empire inspired the members of the Songhai Centre with pride and hope for a dignified and prosperous Africa. They noticed that the cardinal values that contributed to the emergence of this brilliant West African civilization, namely: its vision, its courage, its creativity, its sense of common good, its discipline, its solidarity etc., tend to disappear from the habits of the African people. That is why they set themselves the challenge of reviving the values rooted in African civilizations, transforming the continent's innumerable comparative advantages into competitive advantages, while making effective use of the opportunities available. Their target was the African youth.<\/p>

Four years after its establishment, Songhai began to train young agricultural entrepreneurs. Long cycle training began in Porto-Novo in 1989. The Centre then tried to expand throughout the country and the sub-region.<\/p>

En 1993, le Centre Songha\u00ef de Lokossa-Kinw\u00e9dji est cr\u00e9\u00e9\u00a0; celui de Parakou et Savalou ont suivit en 1999. Au Nig\u00e9ria, le centre mod\u00e8le Songha\u00ef \u00e0 Amukp\u00e8 dans l\u2019Etat de Delta voit le jour en 2002\u00a0; puis en 2010, ce fut le tour des centres mod\u00e8le Songhai \u00e0 Bunu Tai dans l\u2019Etat de Rivers et \u00e0 Adani dans l\u2019Etat d\u2019Enugu (Nig\u00e9ria). Le Nig\u00e9ria a pris de l’avance dans la r\u00e9plication du mod\u00e8le Songhai! En 2011 et 2012, le mod\u00e8le Songha\u00ef est implant\u00e9 dans plusieurs Etats\u00a0du Nig\u00e9ria\u00a0: Enugu (Heneke)\u00a0; Lagos (Avia)\u00a0; Katsina (Dutsinma, Sabke et Mairuwa), Cross River (Abi), Ebonyi (Abakaliki). Dans la foul\u00e9e, le Lib\u00e9ria et la Sierra-L\u00e9one entrent dans le mouvement. Un mod\u00e8le Songha\u00ef est cr\u00e9\u00e9 dans chacun des deux pays en 2011.<\/p>

Entre temps, le\u00a0r\u00e9seau des fermiers Songha\u00ef est lanc\u00e9 en 1993 et l\u2019Association Songha\u00ef – France \u00e0 Lyon est n\u00e9e la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e. Le\u00a0Projet de r\u00e9plication du mod\u00e8le Songha\u00ef dans une quinzaine de pays africains avec le soutien du PNUD (Programme des Nations Unies pour le D\u00e9veloppement) est lanc\u00e9 et\u00a0Songha\u00ef est m\u00eame promu Centre d\u2019Excellence r\u00e9gional pour l’Afrique par les Nations-Unies en 2008. C\u2019est dans ce cadre qu’est implant\u00e9, le mod\u00e8le Songha\u00ef\u00a0\u00e0 K\u00e9tou et \u00e0 Zangnanado dans le Sud du B\u00e9nin, respectivement en\u00a02012 et 2013. Le Fr\u00e8re Godfrey Nzamujo fut admis au rang de Grand Officier de l\u2019Ordre du B\u00e9nin en 2013. Le Centre Songha\u00ef Ouando s\u2019\u00e9tend aujourd\u2019hui sur plus de 22 hectares de terre et sert beaucoup plus de site exp\u00e9rimental.<\/p><\/section><\/article>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
