Two containers loaded with agricultural machinery manufactured at Songhai Centre in Porto-Novo, were shipped to Monrovia on Thursday, August 20, 2015. This is to meet the request made by the Ministry of Agriculture of Liberia to acquire a large number of agricultural machinery to equip, support and strengthen the capacity of Liberian producers and processors, particularly in rural areas.

15 electric integrated grinder-mixers (crush and mix all kinds of cereal with a capacity of 1 ton/hour); 15 diesel motorized cassava graters (grate cassava and coconut with a capacity of 1 ton/hour); 15 twin screw presses (for various and multiple uses with 150 Kg/loading); 15 motorized pellet-making machines (help produce pellets for animals, with a capacity of 100-200 kg/hour), a total of 60 machines.

A team of two technicians from Songhai will travel to Monrovia upon receipt of the machines by the Ministry of Agriculture of Liberia. Their mission will be to train a core group of technicians in the use and maintenance of the machines. They will then train the beneficiaries in counties (territorial division of the country into administrative regions, there are 15 in Liberia). The training will last ten (10) days and will take place at the Agricultural Research Institute of Liberia (CARI) at Suakoko in Bong County, where a unit of agricultural machinery will be installed for the benefit of the institute.
