PROCESSING

Producing without processing makes producers to lose value addition. This is an obstacle to development. To eliminate this obstacle, Songhai has invested in agro-industry, mechanics and in the manufacturing of agricultural machinery.

We process the agricultural products ourselves, on sites. We use simple, natural processes and technologies that are easily accessible and efficient. The palm nuts we harvest, for example, are processed into edible oil (palm oil and palm kernel oil), which we use for several purposes, including the manufacturing of soap.

We reuse the  oilcakes resulting from our feed mills, in combination with other raw materials, they are processed into animals feed for nourishing our livestock. This is achieved, thanks to the ingenuity of our technicians at the “Mechanics-Manufacturing Department” who design and build all kinds of machines adapted to our needs, and according to different sectors (rice, palm oil, fruits juices, palm kernel oil, garri, animal nutrition, drying, etc.).

But we don’t just only manufacture them  for our needs. We also make them available for sale, at low, carefully considered costs, to enable producers to afford them and boost their production.  Most of the  aluminium spare parts or other materials – that are mounted on our machines are the result of the fusion of metal objects that are given  a second life after being recupied from the nature, to preserve the environment. That’s the work of the foundry unit.

We are moving day by day.In addition to our mini agro-food industries, we have already installed a new factory of fruits processing , juice and mineral water production a couple of years ago. By the means of this plant, former Songhai graduates and likewise producers generally no longer have worries on the preservation and commercialization of products like tomatoes, pineapples and mangoes etc. Especially those whose products respond to the Songhai label demands

The advent of this industrial zone has led to the installation of the packaging manufacturing unit, bottles for juice bottling   and other plastic materials. Those ones are obtained by the collection of plastic wastes that are recycled in our plastic  recycling unit .The latest jewel of our industrial park is the new factory of the floating fish pellets production which has the capacity of producing one ton per hour.

Synergy at Songhai is not just talk, it is concrete and highly effective.
